3rd pic IF tube (6jc6) had a short, new one resulted less ringing look to the pic. its getting good enough for a screen pic, will post one soon. Checked the HV right on 25kv and very well regulated. I need to go back and check the HOT and shunt tube currents. The 6fq7 horz osc tube tested pretty weak but seems to be working ok. I will swap it out after I get the HOT current check setup to see how much difference there is with a stronger tube.
The tuner needs the normal cleaning but not going to get into it now. Overall this one has been pretty much trouble free.

ARGH, I went out to get a pic, turn on set, GREEN only. I looke around and feel a power resistor near the R/B amp, stone cold, and I notice a brown wire that looks real bad, sure enough its broken loose. No way I can fix it with out pulling the chassis, so I will just make a note and put it away for now.

that contrast is maxed out, tried the AGC adj for max contrast (just before losing sync). I am assuming its a gain issue somewhere as on my other sets too much contrast is easy to get. I still suspect the bypass cap in the video amp, but its not going ot be easy to get at so will have to wait. I just wanted something easy to work on and see if I could get it going quickly.

I saw one of those in a front yard of someones house a few months ago.. The picture tube was cracked and the layers of the screen's phosphor seem to be coming off, as you could see spots of just glass of the tube it self..
