Tim, would you have access to look at the following Sam's: 292-3, 304-2, 321-3, 334-2, 338-2 From the list i have, they and 317-3 cover all 1956 models. The reason I think it is 1956 is the picture for the 5C603 is the set I have but the 5C603 is a 24" set and mine is a 21" information I find for that does not have the correct chassis. Nothing that I have looked at has been correct so far.

Are you sure about that 5J6 mixer tube in the tuner? The 4BQ7 is a standard cascode RF amp. I looked through most of those Sam's folder's you listed and 334-2 comes closest so far. Your three piece chassis is what's strange. I'm looking through my Rider's currently.

Yes, it is a 5J6, I pulled all the tubes the other day and tested them. That three piece chassis is really strange.. in all the prints I have looked at I can't find it anywhere. Thank you again for trying to find this...

I did find a tuner in Riders 16-3 for CBS - Columbia which uses six volt filament tubes, 6BQ7 and a 6J6. Now to try and find a set with a 6BY6 / 3BY6 in it.

199-4 is a few years older but I wonder if they re-used the cabinet design. Does any one have this one to take a look? I was thinking it was 21T11, but I found Some info for that chassis in a beitman and it does not look like that is it. I found an Air King TV that looks like the tv I have.. (It is not the right chassis) but it does look like air king made tv's for CBS-Columbia. Getting closer

I looked in folder 199-4 , it's not right . I looked at all the Sam's 300 through 354 and found nothing that matches you tube compliment. Also checked 292. I found nothing in the Riders either. Have you been able to find any chassis numbers on the tuner or main chassis ? If you set was assembled in Canada, the schematic may not have been published in the states.

Thanks for looking, I checked over every inch on the chassis and did not find any numbers... printed or stamped. Looked at the bottom side of the wooden bottom too. Could have come from Canada, my area is a half hour drive away from Windsor.

What about part numbers on any transformers, yoke, flyback?

There is a fellow that posts over on ARF that he has Canadian TV service data. You might try posting your question over there.

Here are some close up pics. No numbers on the tuner (well, tube numbers) The yoke has a number 670535 and 29-28, that orange resistor has numbers. The Vertical transformer? had 23 65 and BGH5 marked on it. The Flyback has 15A1100 stamped into it.

I asked for help from the guy that has the Canadian schematics. Thanks for the tip.

That orange thing ain't a resistor. It is a selenium rectifier...They are trouble-prone and release toxic selenium gas when they fail. Replace with a silicon diode. The numbers on the rectifier are its part number and you can look up its current and PIV rating if you have a period rectifier catalog. The plus end is the cathode (banded end of a modern diode).

The Rogers CRT reinforces the suspicion that it is Canadian.
I believe the hyphenated numbers are part numbers and the selenium rectifier even has P/N 93-75 printed on it. This is not the format used by U.S. CBS-Colombia for part number identification. In addition to what you listed, it looks like the audio output transformer is part number 23-63 Those part numbers and the 15A1100 flyback number may assist in finding the Canadian service data. 670535 on the yoke and C179540 on the rectifier are date codes. 35th and 40th week of 1955 respectively.

I was not sure what the orange thing was because it is tapped in the center. Tim, thank you for the info. Getting closer to figuring it out.
