I just watched The Wizard Of Oz in 4K Dolby Vision with HDR, trailer via YouTube on my LG E8 OLED. It’s amazing. I’m seeing well defined freckles on Dorothy’s face, individual jewels on the good witches wand, the burlap structure on the scarecrow, a revit on the nose of the tin man. The red sequined shoes just pop. I’m seeing colors not seen on the 75th anniversary DVD. I can only image how the movie will look on a hardwired connection from a Blu Ray player.

See this link.

https://www.highdefwatch.com/post/th...sparkles-in-4k

My plan is to see how the new 4K HDR OZ movie looks on the Westy and CTC-7.

My existing 4K blu ray player is fairly trenched within my A/V cabinet, so I’m going to buy a new Blu Ray player that I can shuttle back and forth between OLED TV in another room. The 4K projector does not have enough light output to exploit the HDR. I plan to use an HDMI converter to get the output from 4K movies to the roundies. Posting results shortly.

One year ago yesterday, we completed restoration of our Westinghouse H840CK15 with 15GP22. Yesterday, we took a few screenshots to commemorate the event and document the performance of the set. It’s holding up well.

Absolutely stunning pictures. Thanks for a tip of the hat to Helen Reddy.

It's still doing excellent!

Got a question for you... what does your Westinghouse use for channel indication, and could you post a picture?
The channel knob on mine has no numbers. There is a window on the bezel above the knob but there's no number plate behind the knob on mine and the window shows nothing. I suspect there's supposed to be some kind of number plate behind the channel knob, but I can't search for one if I don't know what it looks like...

Marshall📺, those simply are stunning. That set is probably tuned up and aligned better now than when it was showroom new. Westinghouse didn’t seem to be a name as far as tv went for very long. I don’t ever recall seeing that brand in my 10 years of tv service. My brother had an ugly brown 4 speed phonograph probably mid ‘60’s that was a Westinghouse brand. Great images. Boy did America have some great engineering back in the day. No wonder we were a superpower nation back then.

It’s a collar with a thin Mylar strip applied. The numbers will scratch off easily, probably due to its age.

UPDATE, DECEMBER 17, 2020

New screenshots from our Westinghouse H840CK15 with 15GP22 CRT. I chose the same movie Wayne posted recently. The 1944 Technicolor movie, Meet Me In St. Louis, a Christmas musical follows a family at the turn of the century considering a move from the heartland to New York City. Starring Judy Garland, five years after her celebrated role as Dorothy in the Wizard Of Oz. Photos shot December 17, 2020.

Marshall, those reds on the Westy are just stunning. Santa Claus 🎅 would look beautiful on that tv.
