Here is a good shot at getting one of the best quality and most interesting sets ever made. Its a Dumont RA-109. Unfortunatly it used the dreaded 19AP4 metal/glass crt. This set looks like it has the original tube with NO brightener which is evidence of low use time.
If space is an issue you dont want this set. I gave mine away several years ago just so it would not be out in a shed doing time as a rhodent nest. Too big for my small house. These sets are wonderful and super interesting. Dual high and low voltage rectifiers and a probably 60lb. power transformer. Super high end for the day, 1948 or so. I have one of those Admirals, too. Yes, much better in person. Unique in that the top extends out further than the bottom. Mine needs refinishing; I have it mostly working though it has some sort of video issue as I recall. That was a popular series for Admiral-there is a matching radio/phono you could buy to go with it. Same chassis was used in the bakelite consoles.
