You don't see many of these at garage sales too often.

The guy said it didn't work. Figured it probably need new electrolytic caps, but once I got home found some AA batteries, tried it and it does work.
Model TR620, 625, 630 it says inside the back. Also "Made in USA" :banana:

Maybe a re-badged Channel Master/Sanyo? Looks very similar to horizontal-format 60s Channel Masters (except that they usually have the station dial on the left).

Those early Trav-lers were USA built.
I picked up a 1960 model Motorola, That has seven plug-in TI transistors.
Built on Augusta Blvd. Even that early, it uses Japanese 'lytics. :yes:
Model X16N, it uses a center tapped power supply, to eliminate the output transformer. It has a 39 ohm Quam speaker.

Beautiful set. I love early USA made transistor radios. Trav-lers are uncommon for sure. Interesting set and it has some Japanese parts in it.
