Can someone identify this tube?
 

The markings are washed off this tube, and i wonder what kind it is.

I know the following:
It comes from a black and white TV, mid 60s i guess.
It has 9 pins (one not connected) and a top connection.
It is bigger than most other european tubes.
Maybe it is a high voltage rectifyer?

Horizontal output tube?

More likely a damper tube (6v3 for example)

Damper diode, possible a PY500 if it was from a european series string set.

Yes, it comes from a European set (maybe a Philips). The heater current is 300mA.

I would bet the tube is a PL500 or PL504.

Put the tube in your refridgerator for an hour or two, then remove it and breathe on the glass. The number may become visible in the glass while the condensation remains.

I've had some luck rubbing with a soft leaded pencil, but the fridge trick most always works.

There were several damper tubes with similar to this in appearence that were used in B&W TVs in the 1960s. I have quite a few of these. The 6V3 has already been mentioned. Others are 20AQ3, 30AQ3, 17BR3, etc. I do not know the origin of the tubes, but they were used in sets sold in the US.
