Welcome to AK. This place is great. I am also in the PHX area. I have a Model 49 Philco that is AM only and has a record player with 2 tone arms. Haven't been able to find a lot of info on it so far and since it appears to be all tubes underneath I am waiting for a variac (NOS, still on origional packing pallet.)that is supposedly enroute from back East before I dig into it.
