On top of the speaker is not a choke, but the audio output transformer. Notice that S/C made it fully enclosed in metal. They wouldn't have had to. Most outputs were open frame with the windings showing. Speaker is a 5" or possibly 6", better than average. S/C always claimed they made a better product. Their motto was: "There is nothing finer than a Stromberg-Carlson."

Under the chassis are a few original paper caps and a couple of black plastic jobbies that somebody put in there as replacements maybe 50 years ago. They are all bad or soon will go bad and need to be replaced with new ones, as well as do the electrolytic caps contained in the black cardboard can on top of the chassis. Leave it there for looks but disconnect it and replace with modern small units under the chassis mounted on a terminal strip. I will bet once you do this the radio will play. I will also bet the tubes are all OK or maybe just one of them burned out since it's a series string set. Good find! Better than average table set.
