Does anyone here know what year this old RCA set is ? I'm guessing early 1950's. it screams "I Love Lucy"

1954 or '55.
Long after the episode in which the Ricardos buy the Mertzes a TV set and end up in court. That was IIRC, a 1952 Westinghouse.

1953 Rca Tv
It's a 1953 model, the 21-D-317...the "Merritt" (yep, 2 R's and 2 T's)!
21AP4 CRT, 21" Deluxe TVs (so says RCA's Service Manual--1953-T4). |

I stand corrected. It's not a color set though.
That's a reference to it being posted in the color forum and probably not to anything else....

Looks like it has the CT-100 type tuner and knob.

You're 100% correct! It has the same tuner (KRK-12), and the same knobs. The CT-100 version is a KRK-12C, so it may have a more selective design, or something. Only physical difference is in the center dial, which has that sporty arrow-looking thing on the B&W set, and is a plain brass disk on the CT-100. The pencil box door is also identical to the CT-100, but of course has different control holes drilled. I've used one of those on a CT-100 by drilling more holes ![]() Charles
