Just a bit off topic for TV- thanks for that Kuba link
I grew up with the Konzerttruhe Riva, don't know how many hours I listened to it as a kid, knew it was a Kuba but had no idea what model it was. Check out the picture- a model of design eh? |

Now, it WOULD be something if it was a roundie color set....That guy is just TOO outre' for my provincial tastes. 75 hunnert smackers is a bit optomistic, too, I believe. Nevertheless, I DO hope somebody buys it & loves it & pets it & plays with it & calls it George....but I'm afraid it WON'T be me.-Sandy G.

I remember there was one of these on ebay about a year or so ago. Don't recall where it was at, but, I do remember that the auction was ended early for some reason.
Oh yeah... here was the thread... http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4327

Interesting that the TV and radio chassis seem, from the specs, to be rather low quality. 11 tubes in the TV chassis, 8 in the radio, 5 watts per channel audio output to drive 8 speakers.

I don't want to have a Kuba Komet, even if I had the place to store it. |

There used to be one of these on display at the St. Louis Science Center's Planetarium. It was part of an exhibit of '50s and '60s space age memoribilia. I don't know if it's still there or not. Mike Drown? Marlin? Do you guys know?

I am from St. Louis and I do remember that TV. The guts were taken out and a color TV chassis was put in its place. It was part of a Sci-fi display showing clips of Space 1999.

The set was bought by the Early television Foundation. I saw it on their web page.
