That era Sony (EXR series) had a little "magic button" on the jack panel to enter service mode, rather than the display, 5, vol+, power sequence. They also use the funky remote with AUDIO, VIDEO and GUIDE buttons instead of a single MENU button. I have the 20"...
Any news on the CONV transistor?
