Actually I'm answering my own dumb question. CONV is the power converter for the appropriate dc side. It's been a while since I stuck my mug inside a Sony. I just was browsing the service manual for my KV-36XBR450 and realized how the conv and hot and pin circuits work in conjunction with eachother. W/o that circuit everything in hv is dead. I found some questionable solder joints on the LOPTX. That alone would take out the CONV transistor. Crappy thing is that the nasty crack in the board goes right thru the LOPTX. So in turn those solder joints flexed and lost a good connection probably when the set warmed up. The E board in this set has obviously had a hard life. Transistors on order.
