You definitely could get away with a Sharp... Or even a Sylvania, if you can't find a Teknika. Nobody repaired those "cheapie" sets, so most were dumped at first failure (likely in the late 80s).

If that is the Reagan place replicated, do they still have the original set in Santa Barbara? I know that they found the original 16" Motorola bakelite TV that George W. Bush watched cartoons on in Midland, TX. It was still in the house when they restored the house and converted it to the museum. Nobody would throw out a President's TV. I have Ronald Reagan's RCA VCR, which came from his office in Century City.
