Both have in common many non-working CRT tubes and difficult to impossible rebuild options. Just some perspective. I have one of these Dumont Royal Sovereigns stored away with the exact same problem. Like yourself, I desire a solution.
The Solution exists, and is expensive.

I'm shipping mine to Paris, France, to an outfit called RACS, who will completely rebuild the CRT. New Faceplate, new bonding technique, aluminized, everything.

Shipping is 1200 bucks, each way. Rebuilding cost? Getting the estimate as we speak.

Anything's possible.
