wow I would never thought anyone outside Australia and NZ would have heard of Phar Lap..wowo...

and those CBS sets are fantastic.... perhaps the system was ultimately impractical but it sure was pretty good...

The recent Royal Wedding reminds me that in 1953 Queen Elizabeth's Coronation procession was covered, in part, in color using an experimental closed circuit field sequential system with receivers setup in various hospitals in London.
