I changed my Converter Box to a different brand and this seemed to help with alot of the situtations I had explained above.

To service or not to have serviced??
This 1983 RCA XL100 is 31 years old this past January. Is it necessary to take to my TV Shop and have it gone through? It seems to be working just fine now since I made some minor adjustments to it. The gentleman I bought it from had it worked on but don't know how many years ago that was as he hadn't used it for years.
If I have leaking caps. won't there be residue of leakage on the mainboard inside the cabinet? If there was loose solders I would think I would have some wierd things visible wouldn't I? ![]() Any information would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Many times turning up the screen control a bit will help with bleeding...if it is not too bad. Just do not turn it up to where retrace line show. Turn it to that point, then back it down till no retrace lines are present, with the brightness turned all the way down.. Then it should be right.
