Fisher Custom Futura Console

I was lucky to have rescued this console from the roadside early last Saturday morning. VERY clean console, featuring a Fisher mono receiver chassis designation J-10 S/N 78651.

Can anyone ID the 15 inch driver? Its stamped JS 547 113-C5979 and has a 20 UF cap in parallel with the leads. Maybe a Jensen?

The phonograph is a Webster model 140-61.

From what I'm told so far this was a rather expensive special order console.

From what I see in the pic, that 15-inch driver is a Jensen.

Here's A Front Shot

I'm extremely impressed with the build quality of the cabinet and the relative condition of it. About 2 hrs after I got it into the garage (from the curb up the street) a good thunder boomer came thru and dumped about 2 inches of rain in about one hour.

Very nice. It's similar to the one I have. You can read about it here.

Nice Unit!

I'll be taking the receiver out and will be bringing it to Urban Audio for a full restoration. He's about twenty minutes from me. I'll post back when it has been moved into the basement and is fully functional.

Cool, it's the same cabinet with a different finish. But the electronics are different. Mine still works, or at least it did the last time I plugged it in. The cabinet is amazing and extremely well made. Mine is from 1955 and I have the original paperwork and delivery receipt for it. Good luck with the restoration.

The two leads going into the speaker on the back of the magnet go to a tweeter perhaps?

Yes, appears to be a coax

I'm going to remove the driver for a peek at the front and will confirm.

I also just notice the date stamp of the unit, 3/56
