Magnavox combo/monster CRT

While we are talking about monster CRTs. I picked up this Maggie combo 2 weeks ago. I was attracted to the 27ZP4 CRT it has. This thing must have been expensive back then.

Awesome! Does it work?
That looks like a remote sensor below the screen?

I saw one similar at a thrift store a few years back but it wasn't in good shape and the neck of the tube was dark like it had a million hours on it.

Remote?

Eric,
I recall my folks Magnavox console in the 60's. It had that little sensor also. I believe it automatically adjusted the picture brightness as the room light changed.

Thanks for the compliments on the set. I have yet to plug it in. It was sold as a non working set. Had to take it to the storage area because I need help getting it in the house. It is VERY heavy. It is actually on wheels. I do not know if this set has the option to brighten/dim the CRT when the room light changed. I know Magnavox offered this option. Have two other sets to fix before I get to this one. The large CRT was the main attraction to me.
