Speaking of motorolas

Speaking of motorolas. anyone have a pic of a 17p6 tv? Trying to find one like i had as a kid. Not sure if thats the model# or not it had a silver face-plastic screen cover- black sides- black plastic rear pannel - tuner and two other controll knobs on top side. Think it was a 16 inch screen.

I had one when i was in 6th grade, replaced a resistor and a 12gc6 h.out tube. and got it running, it was great till the flyback shorted and the H out tube would start glowing red.. had to part with it. A tv guy took it off my hands, fixed and sold it. Havent seen one since...

This was one of two motorolas i owned back then. The other was a metal case. siver screen front, plastic screen cover, brown color with gold knobs on the side, ive seen a few close ones on e bay but never an exact copy of mine.

Ide love to see any photos of the described above tvs...

Steve

Here's the console version on ebay, a bit overpriced though.

Heres a faint picture of mine working unrestored. Sorry for the picture quality. It looks better if you click and enlarge.

These must have been decent quality sets as I have brought two home, plugged them in and they worked, at least for a while. The wooden 17T8 version payed for only an hour or so and lost signal completely. Surely full of leaky caps.

The bakelite 17T13 version has always remained viewable. The sync is a bit sketschy after a while so its probably ready for a recap. The CRT produces one hell of a crisp, bright picture so I feel like the crt, or perhaps the whole set is low mileage.
