Early 50's Muntz resto

I picked up this original owner Muntz a few weeks ago to save it from destruction. I thought it would be a lost cause, but was proven wrong! Upon inspecting it today, I found it had a Westinghouse replacement 21EP4 CRT from 1961 that tested as new. So, after thinking about it, I went ahead and replaced a handful of coupling caps in the Horizontal and Vertical sections and here is the result! Gotta love this "Gutless Wonder" as there really isn't much to go wrong or replace!!

Just goes to show that even a cheaply built set can produce a nice picture. Nice set!

Well, a Muntz can, as long as you have a strong signal...

Not so sure about the cheap TV's nowadays...

The set is operating on it's internal antenna, just a single wire stapled around the cabinet in back. Clear picture and in the basement as well..
Really, as far as performance goes, it seems to be right in line with my '57 Admiral "Advance Cascode" 21" console and '54 RCA 21" plain jane tabletop.
