It looks like it has good potential. I have seen a lot worse.

Looks in great condition to me...I can't see any flaws except on the back. Looks like it even has a new power cord!

Looks like a Nice 'Un to me...The only things I've ever really regretted were the things I DIDN'T do, the girl I DIDN'T ask out, the old radio I DIDN't buy..

Hi,

It's a Zenith, upper end model, and a 1942 example made in smaller numbers. It's complete and unmolested. The cabinet is nice looking and complete. It would be a superb restoration candidate. What's holding you up? You need that Zenith.

I realized that isn't the picture of the exact one you are after, but I I would grab it in a heart beat. You seldom find the wave magnets in good condition. I've got two earlier Zenith consoles, and if that was near me, I'd have three...

For the wood, check out Howards Restore-a-finish, and Howard's Wax-n-feed. It made my crappy and worn looking cabs look damn near brand new.. well.. other than a few od the scratches.. .but a wax pencil helped with some of those..

As far as the rest, you'll need to test the tubes, watch out for any of the rubber coated wire, and replace the caps. The wires usually sluff off the insulator if you try and move them.

I need to buy caps, and I'm going to order cloth coated wire for the resto.. and I also got a tube tester.

I need to get started on mine, but got a few other projects to get done first.

I'll have to learn how to dial in the radio though after I get the rest replaced.

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine even just looking at them.

Pictures?
