Wasn't this Philco's first TV?
I think this is one of my favorite early TV designs... |

There's a Philco like that for sale in Houston. Spoke to the seller yesterday. There's about 2 dozen sets from the late 40s thru 50s in this collection. I've wanted to go take a look and do some shopping, but just dont have the time to get over there.
The condition of the sets are unknown... none of them have been plugged in since this person has had them.

The sets in Houston are in nice condition. A few of them were on Ebay a while back.

Sorry... I really worded that wrong.
As far as cosmetic condition, they look great (some need a minor cleaning). As far as the condition of the chassis or cRT's (whether or not they work), she told me that was unknown.

I have a set from this collection (I got it from EBAY). I have pictures of the collection that I can send if anyone is interested. These sets are all B&W and from about 1948 to 1953 and include both table models and consoles. They all seem to have wood cabinets They are in air conditioning and are in good cosmetic condition.
I believe that one of the sets does have a broken CRT, but the rest look ok. My CRT appears ok, but I have not worked on this set yet. I can also give you the email address of the person to contact. |
