setchel Carlson
I saw this Setchel Carlson in an antique store today for $75. Kinda cool but I will wait awhile for it to come down in price...or...someone who likes it better will buy it. At least it's not going to China.

Oh, those are nice sets - easy to work on, and they perform well. They're modular, you can take out the RF/IF section and the Horizontal section from the chassis - they unplug.
I have one and like it, I used to watch it quite regularly when I lived in Hartford - I watched the 9/11 coverage on it, ran the set for hours on end each day, and it didn't let me down - period. |

I got my setchell-carlson TV for 20 bucks off craigslist. It was spattered with white paint specks. I spent 6 or 7 hours with an exacto knife lifting off the specks. Success though!
My set worked great with the origional caps, but one went and took out the vertical sweep. Recapping fixed everything. These sets are not common, and have a cool style. Best regards, Matt Davala |
