Question 1938 Zenith Model 9-S-262

I am new to antiques. My husband and I were out riding and I saw this gorgeous radio so my husband bought it for me as a birthday present. The tubes light but I would love to restore it to working condition. If anyone could help me with schematics or a general part list I would greatly appreciate it. I have owned only one tube radio before. Thanks

Great set! This one boasts the highly desirable shutter dial too! As a general rule-do not power this set up! I just worked on a similar Zenith and even when I had it hooked up to all of my safety equipment on my bench it almost roasted. Had I just plugged it in it probably would have been a house fire. Now, that being said, they are very easy to work on. Here is the link to your radio:

Right now the set in our living room is a very similar 8s463 and we love the sound it puts out. I only had to replace the electrolytics (c18-21 in your set) to get it running and it only took about another half dozen little parts to get it to run perfectly. Enjoy this set and let us know if you need any help!

I have the exact same radio which was my Grandparents.Restored in 1985 it has given me years of pleasure and is my #1 prize possession.
If you need any help --e mail me.
BTW -What state are you in? There is a person here in Michigan who restores these and perhaps he might have parts also.
FISRT !!!! Get all of those wax caps out of there. And replace what the previous thread said to do.
Some tubes might be a little hard to find. The 6l7 is one hard to find tube.
Also I have a source that sells the ORIGINAL speaker cloth. Something I want to add to mine.

Attached is a picture of mine.-James Stewart
