1946 Zenith 5R086 record player/radio

I won this on an auction website for $1. I will be picking it up this weekend.

Here's the description from the listing:

Quote:
1946 Zenith Tube Radio & Record Player

Vintage Zenith radio and 33 record player. The model is 5R086. The radio works, but the record player does not. I looked into having it fixed years ago, and was told there's a piece in the needle that needs to be replaced for the sound to come through the speakers. The finish has some scratches and chips. It comes with a few 33 records.
Now I am assuming the seller is either wrong about the record speed or the vintage, since the 33rpm LP was not introduced until 1948.

The reason I'm interested in this rig is that i like to have projects and am looking forward to getting it to play records in the kitchen or maybe out in the shop. (either 78's or 33's, I'll be happy with either).

I couldn't find any info on line about it and am wondering if anyone here has any knowledge of what it is I'm getting for a dollar. Thanks

The model number says 1946 to me, and it's in Sams set #4, which is late 1946.
