Got this at an Old Ladies house sale for $5....It can Really fill a Room...

That tube was probably a 17C9 or 6C9 which adds a center pin to the standard 9-pin layout...RCA seemed to used these too.

I'm betting it was originally sold by W.T. Grant Co. Their radios in the 30s & 40s were called "Grantline", so Granco is a logical updating.

Kew Gardens, NY. ..(2) 12BA6, 12BE6, 12DT8, 14GT8 & 5OL6....And for that Matter, I also have a Granco Tube Amplified Speaker out in the Shed that I haven't thought about for the last 20 Yrs. or so..

Granco made lots of little FM and AM/FM radios in the late 50's early 60's. There was a little plastic FM tuner that was especially popular for folks on low budgets putting together a high fidelity component system. They were their own outfit, not connected with W.T. Grant.

The only Granco I've got is a small, bakelite UHF - VHF converter, from 1953.
Very pretty looks.

I have one of the little FM tuners by Granco that Reece is mentioning. You plug it in to the aux or phono jack on radio's or whatever when you were lacking a fm radio. It works pretty well concidering theres no afc or anything which on other radio's from that era would cause drift. This one stays dead on and is pretty sensitive. Looks like a typical 50's plastic table radio, nothing fancy.
