Westinghouse H104

This was a basket case when I got it years ago. Missing knobs, tubes, the sides of the wood case were split. It was ugly and 5 bucks. I reglued the sides and refinished it. Never did find knobs for it. They have long backs on them to reach down into the case to the pot shafts. Nothing like in AES catalog. I did find some of the buttons around someplace that are a bit short but work.
The speaker was missing so I put in a pm. I placed the output tranny on the baffle board next to the speaker. According to the schematic the field resistance is 200 ohms. So I used two 10 watt 100 ohm resistors. They seem to get pretty warm. I would guess if I left in on long enough you could burn a finger. I was getting hum so I added a 60 mf cap. It cut it down some but it's still there. Not so noticeable with the volume up but with the volume all the way off you can hear it pretty good. Any suggestions? I looked around I thought I had a choke that might work but didn't find my box of iron.
