Can anyone ID the brand of this "Model 529"

I have had this radio since about 1972. At the time "antique" radios were battery powered. This one was just an old piece of junk. Looks like I cut the power cord and removed the power transfomer (I suspect for safety reasons.) As I recall the power transformer looked faulty, but I can't remember. Maybe I took the transformer for another project.

Now that I look at the radio, it seems like it might have some promise if I fixed it up.

Anyway, there is a label describing the layout and indicating numerous patents, but nowhere is a manufacturer's name found. It just says model number 529.

Does this look familiar to anyone??

So far I have determined the Crosley 529 and the Zenith S7-529 are totally different.

This looks like a Belmont set. It could also be a Wards Airline set made by Belmont.

Belmont also made radios for Zenith. I saw a Zenith model 701 table model here (in another post, last night I believe) that was actually manufactured by the Belmont firm. Belmont-made radios can often be identified by the preset tuning buttons on the front panel; many Belmont sets had a semicircular tuning dial with five preset buttons below it, not unlike the mechanical presets on older car radios.
