Please help identify this radio

This radio has a different tuner dial and I am not sure how it works this is different from anything that I have ever seen. The chassis has 5 tubes.

WTF??
Sorry, I can't help. I haven't seen anything like that either. I'll be following the responses in this thread very closely indeed.

Looks like maybe those lock screws are an early type of tuning preset.

Yes, they're presets and you can dial it like an old rotary telephone. I have one similar but cant remember the brand off hand as its in storage. This originally had a decorative emblem in the center but most are missing from these.

New one on me, altho that tuning system/presets business looks somewhat similar to the one on my Scott 800B...I never have fooled w/it, though, kinda has that "Leave Me Alone" look to it...

It's made by Trav-ler of Chicago. There may be a paper tag on the chassis that says "T.R. Corp" or "T R and T Corp." I think they called this dial arrangement the "Traveling Dial." This set was also sold under the Blackhawk name.

Yea the little metal knobs are spring loaded so in other words when I push them they spring right back but that's all they do, it does'nt move the dial, but the middle knob on the face of the radio turns the dial very easy, on the little spring job's there is set screws seem's like you just unscrew them and they slide on the metal dial.

There is a paper tag on the chassis but it's so worn I can't read the markings.

You have a Trav-Ler Teledial set. Middle to late 1930's vintage. The dial face is often missing on these. Very nice set overall. Very uncommon. Decent performer!
