Harmon-Kardon radio??

I was just cruising E-Bay and this piece seemed the right price so I bought it.
Know nothing about it.
Anyone here have any info?

Just an old hk tuner. Nothin' special; probably sounds decent when/if it's in good working order. Probably needs some attention at this late date "for best results".

You can probably find the manual at:
www.harmankardon.com

EDIT: yeppers, here it is: http://manuals.harman.com/HK/Owner%2...ual/A200om.pdf

EDIT^2: looks like this tuner uses a half-wave selenium rectifier. That should really be replaced with a modern silicon diode (assuming it hasn't been already). This will require a little power-supply modification (extra dropping resistor) to allow for the more-efficient silicon rectifier.

MH

Thanks for the info!
I don't have any real expectations given the item description but I thought it might be interesting.

I have one of its slightly newer cousins. :-) I'll post a photo if I have one handy. These are not bad tuners at all... just don't expect them to be in the Fisher/Scott/Sherwood pantheon (much less the rarefied Mac/Marantz zone).

Late 1950's vintage or so. Good tuner for the day. Not quite up to HH Scott, Sherwood or Fisher standards let alone McIntosh or Marantz but very fine performance when working correctly. A good buy!

Thanks everyone. Item showed up last week while I was on the road. plugged it in and it looks like the tubes glow. The tuner string has come loose and it needs a good cleaning. I will post pics when my camera batteries re-charge.
