Early Panasonic Color

I saw this on Panasonic's design history website, it says it was made in 1960, seems like a pretty early rectangular tube. I wonder how many of these are still around.

Click on the product timeline, they also have a older black and white set on there.

The knob layout looks suspiciously like a CTC 10 or 11?

Very curious to know about that crt. Seems like we had pictures on here once of an RCA clone made in Japan...maybe a -10 fitted with an experimental Japanese-built crt?

With the amount of cabinet room top and the sides, it could be a roundie tube masked off to look rectangular.

Japan had a 15" rectangular color tube with large neck (same gun as 21AXP22, et al), which was in the early Toshiba and Sharp color sets. This might be one of those...

Irecently got one of those 15" Toshibas. I agree with Charles, this is most likely what's in this set.

From the link above: http://www.panasonic.eu it states:

Product:
"The K21-10, National's 21-inch diagonal colour TV, was the company's first ever colour television. Featuring unique 21-inch three-colour CRT's, six different types of vacuum tubes, and highly advanced circuits offering outstanding performance, the K21-10 was a great leap forward in colour TV.

Inspiration:
The K21-10, a first for Panasonic, was developed to coincide with another groundbreaking first in Japan - the start of colour television broadcasting. In developing it, the company established new technology for mass-producing colour cathode ray tubes and colour television receivers.

Context:
On September 10, 1960, five commercial stations began colour television broadcasts in Tokyo and Osaka, marking the dawn of colour TV in Japan. Working alongside the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation, Matsushita developed its first ever colour TV.
