Stromberg Carlson Chineese provincial cabinet!

I think he is a little wishful on the price, but it does look pretty. I hope he doesn't gut the electronics.

That has a DuMont chassis... Very high end set. I've had a couple of them with the earlier chassis and 12" round tube. I guess $225 isn't so bad, if it's as nice in person as in the picture. I paid that for mine in 1982-ish.

+1, Love Stromberg Carlson stuff. Elegance and HQ electronics for the most part. I'd pay 225 for a set with a beautiful cabinet like that.

a twin in red

I have this one in the red painted cabinet. I got it from ebay. It had not been recapped but still works. I do not use it since it has not been restored. I got it from ebay. Don't remember the price but I know it went for quite a bit more than that. The cabinet is not quite as impressive in person as in the pic but I am quite proud of it.

That looks like the later 21" TV-only version, the cabinet of the earlier combos was almost as wide as it was tall.

I don't think that's a bad price at all. I passed up one for $100 about 10 years ago and still regret it. It had the ivory cabinet. I was vacationing about 1500 miles from home and the thought of shipping it home made my wallet wilt.

Dang, no room for it now, plus shipping costs, etc... but one day I'll have to get one of these "Chinese" vintage sets. Collectible aspects aside, it would just match so much better than most TVs with all the old Chinese furniture we've accumulated!
