KDKA channel 2 Pittsburgh History

You might find these videos interesting. It's the 50th anniversary special of KDKA in 1999. They started in 1949. Besides the history and video clips there are some vintage sets in the production.

They might start with a 15 second commericial. But not always.

Pretty cool. I'll never forget seeing Bill Cardill doing a news report in "Night of the Living Dead". I was just a kid then, & used to seeing him on "real" TV, so it made the movie more believable.

Lots of fun. I have a Lucite paperweight with a little section of their original broadcasting tower.

They sold these as a fundraiser during the 75th anniversary of the radio station.

I don't know if the paperweights are still available. This was over 10 years ago.

That's pretty cool! It's probably too late but I think I'll give them a call and see if they still have them.
