RCA 16" - 21" CRTs in Keyport, WA 98345
There is a small cache of New, still boxed, RCA B&W CRTs in the state of Washington, from a local estate.
Anyone interested can contact the executor directly, Denise Belden, 360-779-4524, in Keyport WA. 98345. I had mentioned that most CRTs that sell, often go for about $35-$75 each, but it would be up to you to make an offer. I was told that they were still sealed, RCA brand, and since these people are not collectors or familiar with vintage TVs/picture tubes, you would probably need to ask them to take any CRT to FedEx's pack & ship, or some similar mailing place you normally use. Also, they will not have equipment to test the CRT, so I'm sure they would be sold AS IS. The 11 CRTs available: 16RP4/16KP4, 17BP4A, 20HP40, 21EP4A, 21DSP4, (2) 21CBP4A, 21YP4B, 21AMP4B, 21FLP4. and 21ZP4C. Good Luck. Harry |

Those 16KP4 and 21EP4 CRTs are hard to come by. This is a great opportunity for someone!

I am in Keyport every other week and actually am aquaintances with Mrs. Belden. Surprised her name popped up here on the AK forum. I had to double take. Waaga-Waaaga.
I used to go to Keyport every Sunday for years to see my kids but since they're grown now I only go there to visit freinds and family. It is a 1/2 horse town. only about 200 houses. Was a Navy made town and was where all West coast Torpedo's were made from WWII thru the mid 80's. Now its pretty slow. So if anyone wants a go-between or other, let me know. ..

The CBP4 will sub for a list of tubes as long as your arm. If it were local I'd grab one.

I just called and she's really ticked off that you posted a suggested price range and would like you to delete your post. She's also convinced that they are worth $800+ each and you're trying to rip her off!

Try to help someone out and see what happens.
She'll find out she's off her rocker.

Yeah, I've encountered that before - show a little interest in some old stuff and the owner jumps to the conclusion it must be worth a fortune.
I mentioned VDC to her if she wants to check on prices: http://vdc.mybisi.com I think I'll try one of their 16TP4s for $139 instead of her $800 16KP4 for my Sentinel ![]()

Overpriced..but not unexpected!
Well, sorry to everyone that bothered to ask about these CRTs!
When the go-between mentioned they were available, I told him the value was probably $35-$75 each, but to consider less if they remained unsold after a couple weeks. I guess I should have asked the executor directly, what she wanted, before posting these...maybe it was her version of a CEO compensation package

At $35-75 she will sell them all in a matter of months and have a tidy profit. At $800 the only way she will ever, ever get rid of them is to eat them!
The other day at the hobby fair I had a good conversation with a fellow. He really liked my Zenith Porthole, and said he'd like to have one to go with his jukebox in the basement. He asked me what they sell for and was incredulous when I told them. I think he figured the value would be similiar to that of a jukebox, but of course it is much less. Supply & demand, supply & demand.

LOL - Best as I could decipher from her description she has a Zenith Porthole too and thinks one of these CRTs is just the ticket to get it working. She's also convinced it's from the 30s and worth a small fortune

Some sellers with dollar signs in their eyes aren't evil, just ignorant. I once got email from a visitor to my website who declared that his cheapo postwar Silvertone radio console was worth $10,000 and wanted me to confirm that for insurance purposes.
When I opined that a more likely value would be $100 on a good day, he got very angry and stormed off -- probably to find a more congenial "expert." Anyway, we can trust the marketplace to educate these sellers eventually ![]() Phil Nelson Phil's Old Radios http://antiqueradio.org/index.html |
