Andrea clone of DuMont?
The chassis in this Andrea VK12 looks a lot like the DuMont RA-103 that I'm trying to finish.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=170399310537 Presumably a little newer, with AM radio, too. Check out them strings & pulleys behind the dial. Does it have a clutch or something to drive all of that from one tuning shaft? Phil |

Wow! That is one sweet tuning dial.
Yeah, I suspect a nice clutch & transmission behind that shaft. |

Twenty-odd years ago, my girlfriend's dad had the table version of that set.

I don't think it's a DuMont chassis... Andrea and DuMont were competitors, and as far as I know, neither traded with each other. The construction is similar though.

Nope. It's definately a Dumont clone. Right down to the 12JP4 picture tube, and, Mallory INputuner.
Dumont designed thes sets for Andera, and, Andrea put their own information on them. I have the table model set with a smashed dial glass. Has anyone got a spare dial glass they could part with? Bill Cahill
