I am puzzled... in the picture posted by Phil Nelson of his lovely Scott TV combo, the upper knob ?? on the right side looks very strange... What am I seeing here?

It's a chrome cover for the hidden horizontal and vertical controls.

The space is a little tight for those controls, but this allowed them to use a cover that visually matches the big tuning knob below.

I am still trying to identify the manufacturer of this mystery TV. More details and photos in the article referenced above.
