Smile Great news on RCA Victor 6T74. I think it's almost done!

Sorry. Can't fnid my other thread, but, here's what has happenned.....
Last year it played fairly well for two weeks.
Then, I started losing vertical fast, and, vert. hold control lost range.
Horiz. width got even shorter.
A week ago I finally got back on set, and, I only had a horizontal white line.
Took set back apart.

Due to two bad RS meters I was getting very confusing readings in everything. Plust a B+ wire broke.
Or, did it burn off?
After buying a new meter last night, I found out my main problem was from a burned, dammaged vertical height control.
In fact, the center tap, which has the actual boost on it, wasn't even making contact.
Cleanning helped, but, control was very eratic.
Control also checked 50 percent high.

Width control checked a little more than 20 percent low.
A friend of mine from ARF sent me his height, and, lin. controls from a donor chassis, along with some other parts.
After cleanning height control, it checked good. I installed that today.
I checked the horiz. width control from a junk donor chassis I have.
That control checked good after cleanning.
I put it in my set.
Next, I have to re connect a wire, and, do some measurements.
If all checks well, I'll put set back together, and, try it for a picture.
I suspect I'll have my vertical back, and, maybe even more width.....
Tom Albrecht, sorry for my mistake. Thanks for setting me straight in ARF.
Maybe this saga will soon be finnished.

Wish me good luck.......
