Another UK prewar set reaches high price
This rather tatty looking table model reached GBP5300, about $8000. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=120624685885 A set in excellent restored condition went for GBP5000 about 6 months ago and a similar set, demonstrated working at the MBL auction and supplied with an Aurora made just under GBP5000.
Not in the same league as the 702 recently sold to Yagosaga for a German museum but still a high price. Any ideas on who it came from and where it went? |

I watched this one as well and was somewhat surprised at what it sold for compared to the other recent examples in better condition. I have not heard where it came from or where it went.

Hi Jeffrey,
Please let me know if you find out who got it so I keep our database current. |

I'm making some enquiries but so far no joy. As you probably know, the UK vintage radio forum does not allow discussion of ebay sales. This excludes what is probably the best source of information.

It has gone to a friend in south Wales. He has promised to register the set on the database, along with his HMV900. You may already know of the 900 since Eckhard assisted with getting from Germany to the UK.
