Looking for Vintage TV "Cheater" AC Power Cords ?

You know the ones. Brown, with the "ears" to slip over the rivets? I'll take straight and/or angle entry.

I want to buy a bunch. Anybody know? AES doesn't have them.

Thanks in Advance;

LJB

Speaking of that, know a place to get ones that are still in good shape?

I really need one of these cords, too. Just one for my Zenith... which doesn't exactly fill up a $20 order. That minimum order dilemma seems to be a problem for me frequently, especially when I'm trying to fix things up on a budget and the few simple parts I need are strewn across several different websites. I don't exactly like the idea of filling up an order with stuff I don't need just to get one power cord. Couldn't life be more simple?

This site has every kind of power cord imaginable. Have fun scrolling down through. There are some cheater cords down there. I know I have seen them elsewhere so will post again when I find them.

http://www.kenselectronics.com/lists/pwrcord.htm

Edit: Ken provides this note: SCAN-AC Rectangular, Tokuden TS-031 16x8MM, 8MM=.310" center spacing, .108" holes $4,50
SCAN-AC fits 1950's non-polarized TV cheater cord sockets; old Heath SB-301 & SB-401

Take a good look around the thrift shops. Many times they have a used cord bin. Items like electric knives, mixers and other small appliances have cords with the proper spacing. Granted, they don't have the ears on them but they're safer to use than a damaged one.

Oozing green gel... what a problem! And they tend to burn the interlock pins if they can.
And try to get the green goo off your fingers! Yuck!

Some have used shaver cords, but those are the oozing green goo likely suspects...and some are wimpy wires.
