I have an old capacitor measurer. Looks to be built to mil spec, but no brand name on it. Along with the electric eye tube it has a 6J6 and 6AG5 and 5Y3 inside. Question: are these caps (marked C5 and C10 as seen in one of the attached pix) reliable, or should I change them out? They look to be mil spec sealed units.

Not sure why, but I can't see your pics.

Odd, after loging into "AudioKarma" I could see them. "VideoKarma", no.
They look like oil filled cans to me. They're sealed well and shouldn't absorb any moisture. If it were mine, I'd trust them. They might not be oil, but I've never had one that looked like that become a problem. That's a neat unit! John |

Re the attachments, check to see if you're logged in to the forum. I couldn't see them at first because the forum had not automatically logged me in for some reason.
Re the caps, I have seen both good and bad caps in "bathtub" containers. I originally thought they were all super-duper, but in a later project I tested some and they were as leaky as any old paper cap. So, in my limited experience, the bathtub container doesn't automatically mean they're good. Phil Nelson |

Nice instrument, hope it serves you well!
Regarding the failure to automatically log in when opening videokarma, this has been happening to me for sometime as well, I just keep loging in manually... |

I had a problem like that with audiokarma. I shut down my PC and rebooted, problem went away.
