Sheesh, that one looks practically new. A tabletop porthole is high on my wish list.

Re the grille cloth, if it's OK apart from the fading, perhaps you could re-dye it. I haven't done this before, just thinking out loud. It's hard to find an acceptable match for some cloths, and if you're planning to replace it anyway, it's a no-risk experiment. I don't think you'd want to use old-fashioned Rit dye, which takes boiling or very hot water that might shrink your old cloth. Perhaps there are other dyes that don't need high temps. Or perhaps the Rit would work well enough in cooler water, as long as you leave the cloth in long enough. You're not dyeing coveralls for farmhands, just a decorative cloth that will cover an opening and never be touched again.
