Picked up locally from flea bay

Found this on ebay about 30 miles from my place, just picked it up today. It's a rca radiola 7-11 with a victrola ve7-11 on top. Tuner frozen on radio, victrola works. Needs typical rewiring. Cabinet very decent. Speaker intact, but needs grillcloth. Also came with 45 records.

oh my, that is beautiful. I am most thoroughly jealous. I hope the frozen tuner isn't a result of aging pot metal.

That was my first thought when he mentioned frozen tuner.

It does have the potmetal wheel on the end of the tuner, but it's intact. I did manage to get the tuner freed up. There's one multi section tar cap that I'm going to replace.
What I like about this is the whole radio slides out of the cabinet.

The only problem I'm going to have is figuring out how the wire that moves the tuner gets routed....it's there, not broken but not in place.

Well cleaned up the radio chassis and hooked up the speaker. Got no sound out of it. Hooked up another speaker and got stations and volume. Checked out the speaker that did'nt work and the coil is open So now it's time to dissasemble the coil and see whats going on there.
