Hole-ly Motorola!

Better ventilation indeed!

The mask on this one looks remarkably preserved, maybe the extra air flow?

The CRT looks nice and bright. This one should be a great parts set, or maybe someone has a spare cabinet. I have a fully restored VT-71 cabinet waiting for the chassis from my other set that is in a beat-up cabinet.

You beat me to it! My sentiments exactly. The CRT is worth a fair amount and since it has just vertical problems, it should be easy to fix with new capacitors and power supply etc. Hope someone here gets it. I have 5 of these little guys already and am going to Australia for a month. So bidding is out for me!

I can't believe the CRT mask is still intact, must have been stored upright all it's life.

Holy cow, that thing is probably 10 minutes drive from me! If the price stays that cheap I may even be able to afford it on my shoe string budget....

I'm pulling for ya'. Hope you get it. You could restore it and than keep your eyes open for a pristine cabinet, swap the guts then make another decision... (He scratches his head) Hmmm, "Should I restore the second one???"

I do have a blond VT-71 that I recaped (except for some micas that are causing terible intermitant deflection frequency issues) and had working before some shorting in the tuner took out the RF (or maybe IF?). The cabinet on my VT-71 is so messed uo that I'm not even going to consider taking it on untill I learn cabinet restoration and get a LOT of experience.

It is about over the edge of what I might be able to convince my folks to spend so I'm not going to bid.

Hope you win it Bill.

Good luck Bill. CRT looks good and the chassis is in somewhat good condition judging by the fact that it has most of a raster...

I wouldn't vouch for the health of the person that made that cut... they went right through the asbestos mat!
