I picked one up a while back that was in bad shape. It was a barn find and not worth keeping whole. According to the code dates on the parts, it was built in late 1955. I was surprised to see they used 6BQ5's as outputs. None of the other American makers used those tubes that early.

This isn't the correct forum for this post, or even the right board. I suggest you visit AK.

Black beauty capacitors are notoriously leaky and can short, burning out other components. I know there is a cult following for them where they are used in certain guitar bodies, where their leakiness causes distortion of sound that is like by some, and they are not in a high voltage circuit there so not likely to cause damage. But using them in an amplifier at voltage is asking for trouble. I've seen plenty of pictures of them split open after they let their smoke out.

There is a small Fisher Console at a local store.
It looks like a 1950's TV whith the doors closed, a little wider and shallower.
It has, I think, a Garrard Turntable.

It's in fantastic condition and she was willing to take $100 dollars for it but I just don't need any more stuff around here.
