Don't locate it where the sun can fade the white plastic over time. That is a real nice looking set. Most of those I have seen were branded Goldstar. The "new" smell will go away after a while of regular use. It is nothing to be alarmed about. I absolutely love 12" black and white sets.

It's a funny thing about white plastic. The stuff turns yellow even if it's not exposed to the sun. It has something to do with the flame proof qualities of the new plastics.
