Most of my sets have that nicotine film on them when I get them. I suppose we are all used to it. I am amazed when one doesnt have it. My Predicta and my Admiral had none. And both are in super nice shape. I really think they spent their lives in one house and obviously no smokers. I sure have enjoyed this thread.

You may want to look up "retrobrite" online.
From what I can see, this stuff is ideal for our vintage projects. You can't buy it, you simply make it yourself. There are recipes and it looks pretty easy. In the instance of the CRT case on a Predicta, I'd try some on the inside first in case it takes the colour back too far. It consists of hydrogen peroxide and a few other things. When time permits, I want to try it out and I think it'll remove that faded yellow/brown colour. I'd love to hear if anyone has already tried this!
