What brand lamp did you get? A friend of mine ordered a "Sony" lamp off of e-bay but it was an no-brand aftermarket lamp. Ad should have said "FOR Sony". Anyway he ended up sending that back, buying a Philips lamp-reflector only and reusing the lamp holder. |

Hell I didn't even check. I got the unit off of Amazon..so its probably a cheap knockoff from china.

What happened was my friend ordered one on e-bay said "S0NY" not "for S0NY", and "Genuine".
A few days later he receives it as a "gift" from Amazon! The e-bay seller fulfilled the order with that same $35 lamp for only $50! My friend was already aware of the cheaper lamps on Amazon which is why he bought what he thought was genuine Sony issue, made by Philips. |

Well, upon close examination of the picture of the box in the Amazon listing looks like it says "PHI/379S" and UPC # 56375 00133 .
