Philco 48-2500 Cab# survey

I also posted this over at A.R.F.

I'm just trying to take an informal survey to find out what the highest cabinet number we can find on a Philco 48-2500 TV is.

This number is stamped on the upper rear edge of the cabinet, it may also be found on the edges of the various doors and maybe the lid as well.

My set has cabinet # 1342, I have a door from a junked set that is #483, we also have the numbers 13, 379, and 84 reported.

C'mon folks, check your number and post it!

I've got #971 complete, which came from Kendallville, Indiana. Drove there and picked it up five summers ago. Also have the chassis and all the hardware from another 2500 that came from NJ, with #1685 in the lid.

Wonder how many were built?

Cliff

Hey Dick, I just restored one of these Philco 48-2500.
These are really neat sets - not a lot of survivors.
I think I saw the Ebay listing for the TV and if it had been near
me I think I would have bidded on it. Looks like a nicely
preserved TV.

Over on ARF, and I think here too, are several very knowledgable folks
on these TVs. Here is information on my Philco 48-2500 restoration:

Hey Dick, the number on this cabinet is 928. You're probably going to need a channel selector knob; the one that's on this is the correct 'type' but obviously not a channel knob.

Make sure you do not use any cleaner on the screen attached
to the inside of the lift up lid. I just use a dust Swifter and lightly
brush dust off.

Start a restoration thread so we can watch your progress.

I should have some extra knobs and parts from the set I junked (#483)
The channel selector n these is different than most Philcos I think, it's just a fluted knob with a small pointer I think, haven't looked at mine in ages so I'm not sure of that.
