AK 40 Transformer Needed

I am looking for a transformer someone might have for an AK 40. My good friend (and live saving radio buddy) 6GH8 Cowboy has gone over the radio and determined the transformer is shot. He looke for one for me in Orlando last week but alas, none to be found.

I am working on getting a matching stand for the AK40 and it would be great if I could get the radio working again.

Thanks!

Ian

Audio coupling transformer? I read somewheres that the ringer device from an old Ma Bell dial phone from the 50's and 60's can act as a functional replacement, but it looks way different. The ringer has two separate coils, which can be repurposed as a primary and a secondary, IIRC.

Another angle: Sometimes the fine wire used inside old transformers will get corroded by the old rosin used in soldering the wire to the transformer terminal or lead wire. And this corrosion gets severe enough to cause an open. Thus the open break may be easily fixed by resoldering a short jumper lead.

There is also a workaround using 2 resistors and 2 capacitors to eliminate the transformer completely that I used on 2 of my sets. Volume has good output surprisingly.
