I don't understand the humor, as frankly, I am somewhat disappointed but also confused as to what was/is so humorous? . But regardless, if you (Firebird) are interested (in the modules) then they are available for the aforementioned (previously stated) price. Regards to all (everyone).

Sorry Norbert! I didn't mean to offend or cause confusion. I was confusing you with another VK (Video Karma) member, who also is extremly detailed in (his) replies.

Seriously? $100 each for modules for a TV he'd be lucky to get $25 if it was working perfectly?

This thread has deteriorated badly, perhaps I should just close it?

Let me look and see what I have. At one time, I had a few Magnavox modules from this era. If I still have them and if you can use them, I'd be more than happy to give them to you.

I probably shouldn't say this in public; but, I'm going to. Those $100 modules are a rip-off and it's just a case where, "he needs them; so, they are now valuable".

Over the years, people have been very generous in giving me needed repair parts to fix various things and if I have something here that I have no use for that someone else can use to fix something; then, why not give it to them? Besides, I'm doing this as a hobby and not to get rich.

I've also had people attempt to stick it to me on parts that would have otherwise likely ended up in the dump; but, I don't have a problem with saying "no" to such people.

Disconnected the speaker wires that go from the mother board to the ten watt amp. Reconnected to the speaker. Got very faint sound with the volume all the way up.

In that case, the problem is most likely on the external amp chassis. First, you need to check and see if you're getting B+ voltage to the amp.

Hmm. I dont recall a 10 watt amplifier on these sets. I'm not doubting anyone, but I dont remember ever seeing one. I started seeing power amps when MTS stereo came along around 1984.

I don't recall a 10 Watt amplifier on these sets either. Maybe added by earlier repair shop to solve a sound problem. Schematic shows speaker connected to pin 5 of P1 on the sound module through a coil. Was this set a combo?
